One Passion.
On May 7, 1991, a small workshop opened in Riga with five employees and big ambitions.
The company was founded by a scientist - a Doctor of Technical Sciences and specialist in holography. Hence the name: GOLEKS. The business direction changed quickly, the name stayed forever. Over 30 years, 100 square meters grew into a full-scale European-level production facility. Thousands of signs. Dozens of countries. One team.
From Holography to Signage
For the first couple of years, the company worked within its original field - holography was both the founder's academic passion and his business idea. But the market set other priorities, and by the mid-1990s GOLEKS had fully committed to the production of advertising structures. That decision proved to be the right one.
In 2000, the company moved to its own premises - 3,500 sq.m. of land and over 2,000 sq.m. of production facilities. The scale grew, and so did the ambitions.
From 1998 to 2018, festive decorations were a significant and distinct area of work - street installations, facade décor, giant Christmas structures for cities and shopping centers. For casinos, we built cockroach racing stadiums and two-meter voodoo masks with glowing eyes. For Eurovision in Kyiv, we created light installations along Khreshchatyk Street. Today these projects are taken on by individual request only - but they remain a permanent part of our story.
In 2006, GOLEKS entered the European market. It was a deliberate strategic move - and it changed the company. Today, exports account for around 80% of turnover, and our signs are working in Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, and six more European countries. And we are not stopping there - in 2025-2026 we are actively entering new markets: France, the Netherlands, and Finland.
Today
Today GOLEKS is a team of 30 people, over 2,000 sq.m. of modern production space in Riga, and a full production cycle: from design and manufacturing to packaging and delivery. We produce channel letters, light boxes, LED Flex Neon, pylons, letters made from non-ferrous metals, and custom outdoor advertising structures of any complexity.
Our signs work in shopping centers, on the facades of banks, pharmacies and restaurants, at petrol stations and airports - in more than 10 European countries. We work directly with end clients and as a production partner for distributors and advertising agencies - under their brand, on their schedule, with our quality.
In 2025-2026 we signed new partnership agreements in Scandinavia and started active operations in the French and Dutch markets. The geography keeps growing.
Looking Ahead
35 years is not a finish line - it is a starting point for the next chapter. We continue to expand our geographic reach, enter new markets, and build long-term partnerships with distributors and advertising agencies across Europe.
Our production is developing - we invest in equipment and processes to maintain the quality standard that has become our hallmark over three and a half decades. Technologies evolve, materials improve - we follow this closely and adopt the best.
But one thing remains constant: every product that leaves our facility must perform flawlessly - today, in five years, and in twenty.
